Hi, I’m Kiarha Lou - an Oregon-based, West Coast photographer.

I’ve always been drawn to the moments people don’t plan for. The way someone looks at you when you’re not paying attention, the laughter that doesn’t last long, and the parts of life that feel most honest.

I believe a lot of that comes from how I grew up - surrounded by bins of film, family photos, and big family dinners. Often sitting right on top of the table as a kid, taking it all in. It wasn’t about perfection, it was good food, people talking over each other, and how much love was at that table.

The photos from that time let me step back into those seasons and feel it all over again. And I think that’s part of why I care so deeply about documenting life as it really is. Yes, I love a clean home, but I also love one that feels lived in, full of life, and a little imperfect in the most meaningful way - true to the season you’re actually in.

So when I step into a season with you, I’m not there to create something new - I’m there to pay attention to what’s already happening and preserve it in a way that feels honest.

Because at the end of it, this isn’t just about beautiful photos or an emotional film. It’s about the experience you’re living and having something you can come back to - something that holds this season of your life in a way that still feels real years from now.

This isn’t a buzzword to me. It’s how I work. I take the time to understand you so that when I show up, nothing feels forced - it just feels like you.

Finding inspiration in what’s already there

I’m not there to recreate anything. I’m paying attention to what naturally exists - your dynamic, your people, the environment - and building from that.

I protect the experience you’re actually living

I’ll guide you when it matters, but I’m not going to pull you out of the moment just to check off photos. Being present will always matter more than anything performative.

Growing up, if I wasn’t at gymnastics, I was running through old-growth forests with my camera in hand, muddy shoes and all. After high school, I moved to Bend, OR for college, earning my Associate’s in Science and EMS. Eventually, I made my way back to Eugene, where I built a life with my high school sweetheart, our three cats, and - somewhere in all of that - this incredible business of mine took shape.

When I’m not photographing weddings or editing love stories, you can find me sipping coffee with my husband, drifting cars, riding horses (my horse, Tammy), snowboarding, traveling, or rewatching a show for the 1000th+ time.

In the past 8 years, I’ve documented hundreds of stories - weddings, families, milestones, and everything in between and made lifelong friendships along the way.

My goal? To always give you something that feels like you - and to create a space where you feel seen, celebrated, and completely at ease being yourself.
